At today's session, the BMPS Board of Directors and CEO Fabrizio Viola agreed upon a change of the head of the Bank.
Fabrizio Viola has expressed his availability to work with the Chairman to find an agreement to terminate his contract, conditional upon the approval by the relevant bodies, in full compliance with the applicable contract and laws provisions. Mr. Viola has agreed to stay in office until the appointment of his successor and to provide all necessary support.
Fabrizio Viola, called at the helm of the Bank at a time of extreme difficulty for the Institute, leaves a profitable and solid Bank, with a plan, presented to the market on July 29, which include a structural and final solution to the NPLs.
The Board of Directors has initiated the CEO succession process with the aim to identify the new CEO in short term.
The Board of Directors unanimously thanked Fabrizio Viola for the high quality of his work in the interests of BMPS. The Board also expressed its genuine appreciation for the great skill, the dedication and the transparency with which he led efficiently the Bank for more than four years.
