Antonio Nucci has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Deputy General Manager of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena. From October 17, 2016, he will be responsible for the Retail Division and will supervise the Corporate and Investment Banking Division, to promote the coordination, control and development of all businesses (Retail, Private and Corporate). The CCO will supervise Widiba Bank, and, through the Divisions directly reporting to him, MPS Capital Services Banca per le Imprese, MPS Leasing & Factoring, Montepaschi Trust and the foreign subsidiaries (Banca Montepaschi Belgium and Monte Paschi Banque).
Antonio Nucci held several major positions in banking and insurance, with a strong professional experience in retail, corporate and private business. He held several positions in the commercial business of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, including branch positions. As General Manager of Banco di Napoli, he contributed to the reorganization and restructuring of the bank. As Regional Manager, he was responsible for central Italy, Islands and north-western Italy. He has also strong professional experience in Private Banking, as he served as General Manager in the transformation of Sanpaolo Bank Austria from a commercial into a private bank, and as a Director of Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking. In terms of foreign experience, he served as Area Manager for Germany (Frankfurt) in the Corporate Division of Sanpaolo IMI. In insurance, he was Head of the Insurance Division of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura.
At today’s meeting, the Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena assessed and confirmed unanimously the requirements of professionalism and integrity for the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, Mr. Marco Morelli, appointed by Board of Directors on 14 September 2016.
Regarding Mr. Morelli the Board of Directors assessed and confirmed that there exist no material circumstances pursuant to the regulations on interlocking directorates under Article 36 of Italian Legislative Decree 201/2011, converted by Law 214/2011.
